How Did It Happen?

Labor, was “easy” as labors go - 6 hours and she was here…
My feelings the first time I saw her were not what I thought they would be…frankly, I was kinda grossed out by all the “goo” surrounding her. I grasp for the blanket they had laid on my belly, to “wrap” around her - just so I did not have to “touch” her. (I have never been one for “dirty” or “gooie” stuff.)
Several minutes passed, and I lay there, watching my daughter - I kept saying “My daughter, I am really a mother? Who in their right mind made ME a mother? Am I ready for this?”
My mom, who was there, looked at me, laughing, she said, “I don’t think there’s a way to be ‘ready for this’ all you can do is your best, and I know your best will be just what Aubrey needs.” Right then, that’s exactly what I needed to hear.
Right after that, mom went running though the halls, I could hear her shouting “We have our girl, we have our Aubrey.” You see, Aubrey is my mom’s maiden name, a name I knew I would use, ever since I knew I wanted to be a mother. I dreamed that my little girl OR boy, would have all the strength, love and compassion that my granddaddy had, all passed to him or her, via a simple name. (Mom, did not know, that had she been a boy, her name would still have been Aubrey – we had her convinced, it was going to be something else.)
Moments later Aubrey was nursing; Hours later, Aubrey was sleeping; Hours later, Aubrey was crying, pooping, and doing all those wonderful things that infants do…
And tomorrow, I am going to look at that girl, with such pride knowing what a wonderfully, beautiful, compassionate, loving, kind and sweet girl she is. Part of me will be crying, for she’s growing up WAY faster than I could have ever imagined, it seems just yesterday she was crying in my arms.
Happy Birthday my sweet girl, you are loved more than you know.

6 things?
Posted in General on April 23, 2008 by jaz3trioEAK, are there really 6 things I can think of to tell you that you all really don’t know? Well, Mrs. C tagged me…Which is frankly exciting, since this is a NEW blog and all – I was not sure anyone would even notice me over here!
* My favorite show, one that I will, and cant not miss is – LOST! OHHH, the season’s almost over, and I want to cry!
* I am going back to college! OMG, college – When I am done, or maybe before I finish totally, I want to become a web designer and a photographer! (It’s my DREAM, and OMG I have all A’s right now!!)
* My b-day is in 5 days – my daughter’s is in 3 days – in a way it’s nice that hers now over shadows mine – I am getting old.
* My feet grew while I was pregnant, I had NEVER heard that could happen, but darn if it didn’t! I now have BOATS, a size 8 – not that they were little before – at a 7.5.
* I LOVE to take pictures – guessing you knew that but, oh well! The one thing you might not know is, I HATE to hear people say, that picture is awesome; I wish I could get a camera like that to take pictures like that. PEOPLE, really, does your oven make you a good cook, because honestly mine does NOT…(not that my pictures are that great – but still)
* I just got PaintShop, and I am so confused! But it’s really neat, I am thinking about getting one of those idiot books for painshop, so I can have some idea of what I am doing before I get into my graphics class in 3 weeks!
So there are my 6 things…now it’s um…who should I torture now?
Stacy – Yeah Stacy is a good one, that girl can do ANYTHING – and I can’t wait to hear some “little known faxs” about her!
Jen – Well because, every mom need’s a mom’s world all their own – and because Jen is so much fun!
Fidget – Because I LOVE her header! J
Kristen – Because she’s got her hands full with 4 kiddo’s – and because I have not been to her blog in forever…I miss checking in with her and her little beauties!
Renee – Because she’s a beautiful mama, who has a sweet little girl to boot!
Melody – Because she’s an an AMAZING mama, a BEAUTIFUL person and someone who’s going to HATE doing this meme! (Smile Melody…your loved!)
Thursday’s Theme - Spring!
Posted in Photography on April 17, 2008 by jaz3trioSpring around these parts has totally sprung…on days where the temp is lower than 60’s, everyone is NOT happy. Today, the high is 65, and by Sunday we are expecting low 80’s! Oh spring it’s the good life! I have to admit, I am not a COLD kind of girl, nor do those HOT summer months in this area thrill me, it’s spring and fall for me, the weather could NOT be more perfect!
Here are a few shots, of our spring, it’s popping up everywhere!
Zachary is trying to learn to scooter, it’s harder than it looks people!
So now, if I can JUST figure out how to use Paint shop!, at least enough so I can do some edits AND save them…life would be good! Or maybe even edit the size…it’s not an easy program I am lost!
Growing

Since I started my new blog, I decided to start participating in more meme’s that, will help me explore my ever changing interests. Best Shot Monday is one such meme, and I am excited to join!
This week’s shot, is of my growing son - I am drawn to this photo - my children are growing, as fast as all the flowers outside at this time of the year…sometimes I believe to fast…Aubrey will be 9 in just a few weeks and I, well I will be 30-something - the years pass, the kids grow up - and I long (sometimes) for the quiet moments of the night, nursing, singing, and rocking….
Tonight
Posted in Uncategorized on April 14, 2008 by jaz3trioWell, All Natural Mommies has been sold…I will miss her, but it’s all good…she’s in good hands. I just was lacking the time it was taking to manage everything!
So I am onto another chapter of my life…which started 4 weeks ago today! I started back to college. Right now, I am taking gen ed classes, which surprisingly are fun! While doing that, I am working on getting the equipment I need for my “next” step of classes (the graphics fun begins). I just got a new computer/monitor and my Adobe Master Suite is on the way (YEAH)!!! I am so excited, and so far I have A’s in both classes (they are both 9 week classes).
Anyway, tonight I was laying in bed with Zachary, we had just laid down…so, I went “AHHHH” to scare him….
He looks at me, straight faced and said….”Mommy! You scared me OUT of death.”
I just burst out laughing….hence the name! (Which you don’t see unless you look at the title bar…gotta fix that too) (And I cant wait till Photoshop gets here so I can change the photo’s in my header!!! But in the mean time if you want to take a look at some of my recent photography with my new camera (the D80) check out my flickr! I am still learning - there’s A LOT to learn!)
